I had an interesting stay at Valdivia Hotel. The location was super convenient for hitting up major sights like the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, which I loved. However, the room situation was a struggle, as I got shuffled around a bit, and the amenities weren't as appealing as I hoped. Breakfast was pretty basic too, but the staff did have a welcoming vibe that made things a bit better.
Rooms
6.0
The room I got was clean and spacious enough, but I did face some issues like poor drainage in the shower and unexpected noise from the terrace. Some rooms seemed cramped for the price, but overall, they were decent.
Service
6.0
The staff were friendly and tried their best to help, especially the main receptionist. However, I often found no one at the reception, which made things tricky when I needed assistance. Communication was hit or miss, so that was a bit frustrating.
Location
9.0
The location was a major highlight. It was right in the center of historic Istanbul, surrounded by great restaurants and close to all the main attractions, making it super easy to get around.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was really basic - just bread, cheese, and some spreads, and the restaurant's lunch was good but pricier compared to local spots. I found better dining options around the hotel.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities were okay, but lacked some essentials like reliable internet and better upkeep in some areas. It could definitely use some upgrades to enhance the experience.

My stay at Valdivia Hotel was a mixed experience. While the suite I was given was quite spacious and beautifully done, the chaos around check-in left a sour taste. The area was noisy, and that made it somewhat hard to rest and enjoy my time in Istanbul.
Rooms
7.0
The suite room was spacious and nicely decorated, which added a charming touch to my stay.
Service
5.0
I encountered a significant issue with the management's conduct. The front desk staff were often helpful, but the manager's aggressive behavior was unacceptable.
Location
6.0
The hotel is conveniently located close to many major attractions, making it easy to explore Istanbul's rich history. However, the street noise was quite bothersome at night.
Dining
6.0
I didn't try the in-house dining options, but there are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby which were well-priced for the location.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel offered basic facilities including room service and housekeeping, but issues like non-functioning air conditioning detracted from the overall experience.

My stay had its ups and downs. On one hand, the location was fantastic, just a short walk from attractions like the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. However, check-in was a hassle, as I was unexpectedly sent to another hotel for the first night, which was disappointing. The room I eventually received was clean and had a nice balcony, but the amenities needed improvement, like the bathroom fixtures.
Rooms
6.0
The suite I ended up with was nicely decorated and clean, with a balcony offering beautiful sea views. However, I found the room itself to be a bit small for four adults, and the bedding arrangements were uncomfortable on the first night.
Service
5.0
While the staff were generally polite and accommodating, my experience with the manager was very negative, as I faced harsh treatment over billing issues. It really soured my overall impression of the service provided.
Location

The hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of the historic Sultanahmet district, making it easy to access great restaurants and shops, as well as major tourist attractions. I loved being so close to everything!
Dining
6.0
Breakfast was average but served enough to get my day started. I appreciated the fresh bread and various spreads, even if the selection was limited.
Facilities
5.0
While the hotel was generally clean and had free Wi-Fi, I was disappointed with some aspects like the lack of elevator access and the noisy environment at times, especially coming from a nearby bar.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, making my experience enjoyable. However, the rooms were quite small and basic, and the noise from the street could be bothersome at times, especially at night. Overall, it provided decent value for a budget hotel.

However, I noticed some aspects of the hotel could use improvement, particularly in maintenance and cleanliness, which slightly affected my overall experience.
